Dr Caitlin Connolly

Dr Caitlin Connolly brings a combined background of research and clinical practice to the therapy room. She has a great interest in the impact of trauma exposure on the brain, mind and behaviour, and has spent many years researching ways to improve mental health outcomes for workers in high-risk occupations. Caitlin also works in organisational settings providing support and guidance for workplaces to navigate issues including burnout, trauma exposure, moral injury and other psychological concerns.

Caitlin works with clients presenting with mood and anxiety disorders, trauma exposure, stress and burnout, interpersonal difficulties, self-esteem and body image concerns, phobias and challenges with emotion regulation. She wants to support clients to build on their existing strengths (and eventually become their own psychologist) and places a strong emphasis on the therapeutic relationship and authenticity.

Caitlin integrates a range of theapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, and Schema Therapy.

In addition to therapy, Caitlin conducts cognitive and neurodevelopmental assessments for children, adolescents, and adults. She values thorough, thoughtful assessment processes that help clients and families better understand their strengths, challenges, and pathways for support.

Outside the therapy room, Caitlin enjoys activities that challenge both the body and mind. When she is not learning a new therapeutic technique, you will find her rock climbing and exploring Tasmania’s mountains. Caitlin is a passionate animal lover and is currently in training with her golden retriever puppy, Yoshi, who is beginning his journey toward becoming a therapy dog.

Caitlin is currently accepting new referrals for children (aged 6+), adolescents, and adults.
